YOUCAT Study Groups – Faith Study Programme in Twenty Sessions

YOUCAT Companion is a twenty-session group study programme which is both structured and systematic, gives its members the opportunity to share their faith and their search for God. This gives people courage and confidence in their own understanding of the Gospel.

YOUCAT Companion provides a twenty-session session group study program which is both structured and systematic. By forming a study group, identifying a faith filled Leader and growing in faith and friendship, we believe this companion will help you come to a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith.

A study group gives its members the opportunity to listen to other people speak about their Catholic faith and their search for God. This will give you courage and confidence in your own understanding of the gospel steadily you will mature as an articulate and courageous follower of Jesus Christ.

Form a study group in your parish, school or youth group

To form a YOUCAT study group in your parish, school or youth group please contact: Máirín Ní Shúilleabháin, National Coordinator for Adult Catechism Studies in Ireland on 00353 87 795 0325. Máirín will be delighted to help and guide you.

The materials required to form your YOUCAT group will be the YOUCAT Companion for Leaders and Participants by Rev. Seán Corkery & Máirín Ní Shúilleabháin. The resource can be purchased at youcat.org or contact your own diocese regarding funding.

A study group will be of interest to Award Leaders wishing to enage with Award participants as part of their parish engagement activities.

YOUCAT is the Catechism of the Catholic Church for adolescents and young people. The most important elements of the faith are summarised briefly and comprehensibly in a question-and-answer format.

The YOUCAT was approved by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome and officially published by the Austrian Bishops’ Conference.
