Pope John Paul II Award Commissioning Ceremony Liturgy Template

Pope John Paul II Award commissioning ceremony template for the Feast of Christ the King

This adaptable commissioning ceremony liturgy template is for parishes welcoming young people beginning the Pope John Paul II Award.

To support priests and Award leaders, we have prepared a Commissioning Ceremony Template (in editable MS Word format) which can be easily adapted for your parish liturgy. The resource, prepared for use at parish Masses, provides a step-by-step structure for the ceremony, including:

  • Welcome (sample text)
  • Readings of the day
  • Commissioning Ceremony (outline included)
  • Prayer of the Faithful (sample intentions)
  • Opportunities for Award participants to take part in the Liturgy (gifts, reflections, ministries)

This Commissioning Ceremony is designed to encourage Award participants to play an active role in parish life from the very beginning of their Award journey, while also involving the wider parish community in supporting them.

👉 Download the full Commissioning Ceremony resource here: [Download]

This is a valuable opportunity to celebrate the commitment of our young people and to encourage them in their role as witnesses of faith and service in parish and community.
